Life! Program is a free healthy lifestyle program helping you improve your eating habits, increase your physical activity and manage stress.

Our experienced health professionals will help you make small changes to your lifestyle so that you can achieve your health goals and reduce your risk of type 2 diabetesheart disease and stroke.

How it works?

Life! is funded by the Victorian government and managed by Diabetes Victoria. The program includes 7 sessions delivered over a 12-month period.

Life! Group Course

The Life! group course comprises 7 sessions. Accredited health professionals deliver the program with each group consists of 8-10 participants. The sessions run for 1.5-2 hours.

Please note, The Lif! program is not available for people who are living with diabetes. The Life! program is a prevention program, offered to people who are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. The program equips people with lifestyle modifications and support to reduce their risk.

Community Organisations and groups

The Life!  group course can be tailored to fit your organisation’s needs, offering shorter more frequent sessions or the standard seven sessions across a 12-month period. During the program, eligible staff will learn more about nutrition, physical activity, sleep, managing stress, setbacks, and goal setting.  

Chinese, Vietnamese, and Arabic communities

We work with interpreters and bilingual facilitators

Aboriginal communities 

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experience much higher levels of chronic disease

The Life! program is a free Victorian healthy lifestyle program that helps you improve your eating habits, physical activity and stress management. Run by expert health professionals, the program shows you how to reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

The Life! Program Benefits?

The Life! program gives you the motivation and support needed to make and maintain positive changes and to live a healthier and more active lifestyle. This approach has been shown to be more effective than taking medication and has a long-term positive effect on your health.
